Ever since I was exposed to the music of Michael Jackson, I have been mesmerized. I remember watching his signature move, the moonwalk, in awe. I remember countless hours of trying to replicate the slick move. That is why I was also shocked and mesmerized when I learned that suddenly, at the age of 50, the king of pop passed away.
Michael Jackson’s life was as far from normal as can be. From his early musical start, to his rise to stardom, and his subsequent decline, it has been shrouded in controversy.
But sometimes, appearances can be deceiving. "He's the most misunderstood man in world," said Matt Fiddes, Jackson’s former UK bodyguard. "Everyone thought he was this weird freak, but when you're with him he's as normal as everyone else."
